Al Fresco Wedding

When Matteo, 35, proposed to his girlfriend Maddalena, 31, he had only one venue in mind - La Magioca near Verona, Italy. This picturesque villa-hotel, with its neighbouring 11th century chapel, is surrounded by olive groves, green lawns and breathtaking views of Verona - and Matteo just so happens to own and run it!

The glamorous couple chose a rustic, romantic theme for their big day, decorating the chapel with trailing ivy and white roses, to complement the fluffy white peonies in the bride's and flower girl's bouquets. After the service, their 120 guests were treated to a pre-dinner feast of meats, cheeses and fresh bread, as well as oysters, sushi and sashimi, all washed down with champagne. But they had to save room for the three course sit-down dinner that included fish soup with pasta and foie gras.

After dinner, the party moved to the basement with its American-style bar where a DJ entertained until the early hours. Guests loved the fact that Matteo and Maddalena stayed until the very end. 'We didn't want to miss a second of our big day,' says Maddalena.

  • Hi everyone! Italy is stunning,we've been travelling there many times to find the perfect location for our wedding, and then..we felt in love with san gimignano, close to siena, tuscany! The sound of a cello playing bach and vivaldi with an harp was really magic! And we had really good chianti wine listening to all our favourite jazz music in the villa where we had the party! We found the musicians on the internet, they are called something like "tuscanmusicteam",we loved their passion and attention to make everything perfect! If you wanna marry abroad, choose italy..but be careful with the food, you are really at risk of gain weight, pasta is delicious!
