Charlotte Mecklenburgh, 33, married Richard Twitchen, 34, at Château De La Motte Husson in Mayenne, France, on 3rd September 2016. She says:

We'd always dreamed of hosting a destination wedding so it could double up as a holiday for all our guests. Ten we discovered that some friends - Angel Adoree and her husband, the TV presenter Dick Strawbridge - were advertising their amazing French château as a big-day venue and ofering a three-day package. It was ideal.

I asked Angel, who was styling all my flowers, for simple, romantic arrangements. She covered the château in dozens of blooms, choosing shades of pink, white, green and purple. She was delighted when she found out the palette matched the ushers' bow ties. I'd originally wanted a blush-pink gown but fell in love with a champagne-coloured 'Tea' slip by Kate Halfpenny. I decided to dress my bridesmaids in soft pink instead. Dick - a finalist on Celebrity Masterchef in 2010 - catered the wedding and the food was amazing. He created a six-course tasting French/English menu for us that included onion and garlic soup, beetroot- cured salmon and sloe gin sorbet.

Angel hand-stitched guests' names on to vintage French linen napkins, which acted as favours. It's traditional in this part of France for everyone to bang the table and shake napkins above their heads during the dinner, so they were great for this too! My top tip: Hire a venue with a fab events team - the smallest details won't be missed and you can just relax and enjoy planning.
