Lime Wood was the first and last venue we visited. I knew it was 'the one' when I spotted a majestic cedar tree, the national symbol of Lebanon, standing proud in its garden. It felt like a sign, a nod to my own roots, which meant a lot.

I wanted layers and textures in our flowers, so nothing would look rigid. My bouquet had trailing foliage, and our tables were covered in arrangements of differing sizes. The result was beautifully organic.

My dress was a strapless Vera Wang gown from a sample sale. I hadn't intended to wear strapless, but I fell in love with the richness and quality of its lace. I had it adapted, adding silk tulle to soften the chest line and drape my shoulders. Mr Blahnik himself signed the sole of one of my wedding shoes! I bought them and met him at an event at Liberty London, where I work. I love the sparkle.

My maids' dresses came all the way from the US. They were just so timeless and elegant, I had to buy them. I then gave each maid a rose-gold pendant to wear on the day. They matched perfectly.

My top tip: Don't try to do everything yourself (like I did!). Paying a little extra for help, such as with producing the stationery, saves stress in the long run.
